JangzThangz is a family-run online gift store that offers items that are both practical and sentimental. Each item is carefully selected to bring convenience to your everyday life. It is a new e-commerce venture that hopes to bring you, your family, and your loved ones together.
Challenge
To provide insights and recommendations for the online gift store providing the Shopify store owners tactics and strategies to help improve organic visibility for their online stores JangzThangz.
Solutions
The following tools were used to aid in the different areas of the SEO audit:
- Screaming Frog was used to perform an on-page audit.
- SEMRush and/or Ubersuggest was used to provide a general audit but in particular for technical SEO issues.
- Ahrefs was used to determine backlinks and referring domains.
- Page Insights was used to audit page speed both for desktop and mobile.
Recommendations based on the results from the above audits and from analysis of the website were provided
- Recommendations were provided for on-page, technical, and off-page SEO tactics.
- Recommendations to set up Google Analytics and/or Google Search Console for the online store.
- Recommendations for how to handle images, i.e. minimize image file size to help minimize page speed; optimize image names; include image text
- Examples of how to implement the tactics recommended were also provided. For example, examples of title tags, meta descriptions, headers, and even slugs that meet SEO best practices.
References were provided to help with the understanding of why the recommendations were provided, best practices in SEO, and more.
Copies of the files from the audits from the above tools were also provided.
Successes
An audit of the Shopify store outlining areas and tactics where SEO can be improved along with strategies on how to approach the tactics provided, in particular priorities of implementation. On-page SEO, technical SEO, and off-page SEO recommendations were provided.
